ReelYield Privacy Policy

ReelYield ("we", "us", or "our") operates the ReelYield mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not access the App.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary for the App to function. All data is stored locally on your device — we do not have servers and do not collect or store any data remotely.

• Location Data: Precise GPS coordinates when you log a catch or view the map. Used only to mark and display your fishing locations within the App.
• Photos / Camera: Images you take of your catches using the device's camera. Photos are saved locally in the App's private storage.
• Catch Log Data: Details you enter (species, length, weight, tide, bait, etc.). All stored locally on your device.
• Device Information: Basic technical data (e.g., Android version, device model) for crash reporting and performance (if you enable it in future updates — currently none sent).

We do not collect:

• Name, email, phone number, or any personal identifiers
• Financial information
• Contact lists, microphone audio, or other sensitive data

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data solely to provide the App's core features:

• Save and display your catch logs
• Show your catch locations on the map
• Calculate statistics and personal bests
• Fetch tide predictions and marine weather using your approximate location (sent temporarily to third-party APIs only during use)

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses these external services (only when you access related features):

• NOAA Tides & Currents API: Sends approximate location to fetch tide data. See their privacy policy: https://www.noaa.gov/privacy
• National Weather Service (NWS) API: Sends approximate location for marine weather. See: https://www.weather.gov/disclaimer
• TackleDirect: External website link only — no data is sent.
• Google Maps (for map display): Uses Google Play Services on your device. See: Google Privacy Policy

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party for marketing or advertising.

4. Data Storage & Security

All your catch logs, photos, and locations are stored only on your device using Android's secure local database and file system. We do not upload anything to the cloud or our servers (because there are none).

5. Your Choices & Controls

• Revoke location or camera permission anytime in your device Settings → Apps → ReelYield → Permissions
• Delete all your data: Settings → Apps → ReelYield → Storage → Clear Data
• Uninstall the App to remove everything

6. Children's Privacy

ReelYield is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The new version will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept them.
